Frank R. Brown Dead

The friends of Frank Brown in this locality will regret to hear of his death which occurred at the home of his parents two miles north of Fern last Wednesday morning. He was taken ill with the grip last winter and had been sick ever since, although his condition did not alarm the family till two weeks ago. The cause of his death was a complication of heart failure and stomach troubles.

Frank Brown was born February 22nd, 1883 at Norton, Iowa. When 2 years of age he moved with his parents to Mason City where they resided until 1891 when they removed to Parkersburg and later on to this vicinity.

The deceased was an honest and upright young man and was highly respected by all who knew him. During his younger years he was identified with the Sunday school and always took great interest in going to church especially during the last few years. Two days before his death he received the sacrament of holy baptism and we feel assured that he has gone to the better land where there will be no suffering nor pain.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Haskarl and Voss, the former in English and the latter in German were held at the Lutheran church Friday afternoon. The interment was made in the cemetery east of the church.

He attained the age of 22 years, one month and 21 days. His mother having died six years ago, he leaves a father, step-mother, a younger brother, three sisters and two brothers-in-law.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family in their sorrow.
