Rev. Godfrey Waldo Barney was the son of Dr. Daniel and Sarah (Bucklin) Barney. He was the husband of Lorinda (Wilder) Barney. They were married September 30, 1832. Lorinda died March 1, 1887. Rev. Godfrey was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1827 Discontinued 1828 Oneida Conference 1829 F 1831 Black River Conference at organization 1836 West Wisconsin Conference 1858. He served (55th Reg't (Allen's NY Militia) during the War of 1812 - July 23, 1814-August 21, 1814.
