Russell Alvis Bondurant, age 92, of Asheboro died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Bondurant was born December 27, 1921 the son of James William and Jettie Florence Mabe Bondurant.

Russell was a native of Winston-Salem and a US Army veteran of WWII. He spent most of his working life in the textile industry where he was plant manager for several area plants. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was actively involved with the Good Time Band, playing in area nursing homes and churches. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Mildred Bernice Bondurant; daughter: Nancy B. Simmons and his good friend: Helen Shaw.

He is survived by: granddaughter and her husband: Russ Ann and Chris Cook; granddaughter and her husband, Mary and Ken Wiggins; grandson: Parrish Simmons all of Goldsboro, NC; and great grandchildren: Anna Cook, Kenneth and Mary Grace Wiggins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 1:30-2:00PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A. J. Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Ether, NC with Rev. Lauren Hill officiating.
