Mrs. Norma Cummins Brashears, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center on Thursday, September 25, 2014 unexpectedly following a seven year battle with multiple myeloma.
Norma was born on August 16, 1942 to Arnold Odell Cummins and Amy Brawner Cummins in Maury County, Tennessee. She married Ronald W. Brashears on August 19, 1960 and they had 54 years together. She was well known in the Mt. Pleasant community as the owner of County Probation for several years
Being of the Christian faith, she loved and helped everyone. She never met a stranger and had the biggest heart and was very compassionate. She was known as a hard fighter who would never give up on family when there was a battle to be fought. She enjoyed reading and making wreaths and flower arrangements
She is survived by her husband three children three grand children, two great-grand children, three (bonus) grandchildren, two brother, one sister, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Arnold Odell and Amy Brawner Cummins; niece: Kimberly Hollis and sister: Bonnie Hollis.
Funeral services will be held September 28, 2014 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
