"Mildred Northrop, 77, of Corry RD 1, died Dec 27, 1985, at Jewell's Home for the Elderly where she had been admitted Thursday. She was born April 7, 1908, in Sparta Township, the daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Dempsey Goodwill. Mrs Northrop was raised and educated in Spartansburg. On Sept 17, 1925, she married Philip A Northrop in Spartansburg. In 1945, she and her husband opened the Northrop Egg Farm. She retired in 1968 and has been spending the winters for the past 12 years at St Cloud, Florida. Mrs Northrop enjoyed crocheting. She was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Burlingame. Along with her husband, Philip, she is survived by four sons...; three sisters, Iva Fralick of Corry, Mrs Keith (Edith) Nichols of Spartansburg, and Verna Scouten of Corry; also 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service for Mrs Northrop will be held at Bracken Funeral Home in Spartansburg...Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery..."
