He was born March 30, 1941, in Keyser, W.V. to Walter C. and Alice E. (Sanders) Newman.
In 1964, Chuck joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1968. He married the love of his life, B. Gayle Arntzen-Fegley, on Oct. 18, 1986, in Carmel, Calif.
Chuck was very active in the community where he was a master mason of the Eureka Lodge; a ham radio operator; past superintendent of the Lincoln County Fair booths; past superintendent of the Lincoln County
Conservation District; and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Chuck’s many hobbies and interests included sewing and embroidery, riding cutting horses, hunting, fishing,and genealogy research.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Gayle of Eureka; children Lisa G. and Bob Derham of Valencia, Calif.; Shawn M. Howell of Columbus, Nebr.; Charles C. and Julianne Newman of Ventura, Calif.; and Sheri Raegan Newman of Los Angeles, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
