I believe this was the maternal grandfather of the famous star of screen and TV, Jerry Lewis. According to what info I have, he died in 1922, and I went from there. I am satisfied this is him, because his wife Sarah (Sasha) is buried closeby. I got the burial info from Jewish Gen online, via ancestry. I have always wanted to know if I am some relation to Mr. Lewis, and I could be, on both sides of his tree, as could some other people. I am still trying to find "that missing link."
Joseph Brodsky was born in the Czarist Russian Empire in about 1871. I assume he was born in what would have been Poland (then absorbed by Czarist Russia), or maybe not (as my maternal grandparents were). His father's Hebrew name was Baruch Tzvi, though I do not know his Russian/Polish name.

He was a tailor, and traveled to America first, leaving behind his pregnant wife and daughters (Rose, Jean, Rachel) to join him later. Daughter Elizabeth as born in NJ. He died in 1922, leaving his wife Sasha/Sarah to raise their daughters (until she remarried).

Jerry has referred to his maternal grandma, Sarah as "the love of his life." She loved him, inspired him, and called him by her beloved late husband's name, Joseph (although his legal name was Jerome).
