Paul Vidal de la Blache was a French geographer who is considered by many to be one of the "fathers" of human geography. (Geography has two main branches today: human and physical.) He created the theory that came to be known as environmental possibilism.∼French geographer. He died in 1918 in Tamaris-sur-Mer, Côte d'Azur.
