2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 25, 1934, a son of the late Woodrow Horseman and Edna Aline Collins Horseman.
Gary was a self-employed contractor for over 50 years and most recently was the construction inspector for the Seaford School District. He was an honorary member of the Delmar Fire Department and served with the fire police for 6 years. He served as past president for the Delmar Chamber of Commerce, Foreign Exchange Student Club, and the Delmarva Carriage Club. He was a town council member, a member of the Antique Auto Club of the Eastern Shore Region, and a charter member of the Mid-Atlantic Halflinger Association. He was a 40 year member of the Delmar Kiwanis and served as vice-president, president and Lt. Governor of the Capitol District Kiwanis. He was also a member of the roundtable at the Railroad Café in Delmar and could be found there many mornings solving the world’s problems. Gary was instrumental in developing Delmar Day in the Park and starting the Kiwanis food trailer. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people smile.
Gary is survived by a son, Steve Horseman of Mardela Springs; special daughter-in-law, Darlene Horseman of Delmar; two daughters, Dora Ellis of Delmar and Beth Mullinix (Vince) of Delmar; a step-daughter, Melane' Boltz (Barry) of Delmar; former wife, Sue Reszutek of Delmar; a sister, Judy Meyers; 10 grandchildren, Gary Horseman, III, Angel Horseman, Nicky Jobes, Stacy Wolfe, April Biddle, Candi Ellis, John Ellis, Tom Ellis, Michael Mullinix and Kirsten Kervin; 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special friend and companion, Holly Nelson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Corrina; a son, Gary Horseman, Jr.; a daughter, Tina Marie Jobes; and a grandson, Robert Horseman.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 and also from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Short Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Reverend Barbara Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow the service at St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
