Robert H. Abshire, 46, of Montvale, died Saturday, January 14, 1995.

He was a member of the Word of Life Center.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Frances R. Abshire.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce H. Abshire; four daughters, Pamela Abshire, Minneapolis, Minn., Karen Gordon, Amanda Bane, both of Wichita, Kansas, Robyn Abshire, Roanoke; four stepsons, Robert Deel Jr., Roanoke, Brad Deel, York, Pa., Jason Mason, David Mason, both of Montvale; two grandsons, Michael Gordon and Trey Deel; father, Elbert E. Abshire, Roanoke; one brother, Terry Abshire, Roanoke; three sisters, Rose Mary Davis, Rocky Mount, Pat McBrayer, Tampa, Fla., Joyce Burgess, Roanoke; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, 1995, with the Rev. A. Roger Griffith officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Montvale. The family will receive friends at Oa key's Vinton Chapel from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday.
