Marvin J. Mausolf, 81, of Harbor Beach, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 1, 2014.

He was born on July 22, 1932 to Joseph and Mayme (Kramer) Mausolf. Marv served in the Korean War from 1954-1956. He met the love of his life, Marlene Booms, in 1956. They later married at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth in 1957. Marv spent his working years at Malloy Manufacturing in Detroit, Booms Silo, and for the Huron County Road Commission.

After his retirement in 1994, Marv spent his time hauling beets for Schornack Farms and Bischer Farms and driving fertilizer truck for Crop Production Services. Marv was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Harbor Beach VFW.

Marv was an avid gardener; he was especially excited to plant his radishes and peas as early as possible. He enjoyed doing yard work, specifically mowing the lawn. Marv took pleasure in fox hunting and fishing, particularly with his children. He enjoyed attending sporting events, especially when he had the chance to watch his grandchildren play. Marv was a fan of the Tigers and the Pistons, and watched the games as often as possible. He passed the time doing his "homework", which were his word searches. Most recently he enjoyed bingo.

Marv is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marlene of Harbor Beach; four children – Mark (Shelly) of Harbor Beach, Wayne (Mary) of Harbor Beach, Glenn (Renee) of Warren, Gail (Jeff) Wolschleger of Memphis; and son-in-law, Mark Thomas of South Lyon. Marv is also survived by seventeen grandchildren – Eric (Jami) Mausolf, Cari (Andy) Sherman, Jason (Carrie) Mausolf, Chris Mausolf, Erinn Mausolf (Grant Champagne), Ross (Kim) Mausolf, Tyler Mausolf, Melissa Mausolf, Matthew Mausolf, Olivia Mausolf, Brandon (Cindy) Bischer, Bryce Bischer (fiancé Desiree), Lindsey Bischer, Wesley Wolschleger, Brad (Brittani) Thomas, Bryan Thomas, and Amanda Thomas. Marv is survived by eight great-grandchildren – Ethan and Aiden Mausolf, Isabella and Kiptyn Sherman, Jaxon Mausolf, Harper Champagne, Marshall Mausolf, and Kailey Bischer.
