Harry Fox Hansell's mother (Abagail) passed away when Harry was four years old. Harry was sent to Oakland for a year, returned to stay with several families for several months. His father was forced to live with with several families over several years. Harry stayed in Eureka with a Mrs McGregor until he was twelve. He then went to stay with H.S. Case home near Rohnerville for five years. He then set out to work for wages, milking cows for J.W. Cooper for 3 or 4 months. He then went to Camp Grant to visit his brother in 1872. At age of 21 he took a timber claim and started a nursery. He sheared sheep for ten years. Became a road overseer for ten years. Spent many years raising crops and working as a landscaper/Gardener. Move to Hayward, Ca in 1921 for his retirement. A fifty year Mason, He was Past Master of Eel River lodge in Fortuna.Member of the Rohnervile Eastern Star, Also became a Scottish Rite Mason.
