In Memory of Budd
July 27, 1988 – August 7, 1999
I do not think of your death and cry.
For in the autumn’s peaceful winds,
In the winter’s glistening snows,
In the spring’s gentle rains,
And in the summer’s morning light,
I know you’re there.
In the uplifting hush
Of the silent bird’s flight,
In the carrying of your spirit
To heaven’s great abyss,
Angelic voices in an invisible choir sing your song.
And, I know you’re there.
Beyond the earth’s tender sunset
Is where I’ll see you again,
With tender eyes
Smiling wide.
And I find comfort right now
Because I know you’re there.
