Per his death certicate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Wm Avery Dixon and Helen Gilmore, both born in S. C. He was married at the time of his death but his spouse is not named. He was an electrician. He died at 2208 Pendleton St. of acute dilitation of the heart contributed by typhoid fever. The informant was Mrs. G. T. Dixon of the same address. Note: the death certificate spells his middle name with an "s" in place of the "z" in conflict with his grave marker.

His WWI Draft Registration card appears to spell his middle name Trezvant even though Ancestry.com has interpreted it as Trezevant. He appears to have signed the card himself.

Found in The State 20 June 1922: G. T. Dixon of 2208 Pendleton street, lineman at the Columbia Railway, Gas and Electric company, died at his home yesterday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock after an illness of 21 days from typhoid fever. Mr. Dixon was well known in Columbia, having lived here for the last 20 or 25 years and having been employed at the Columbia Railway, Gas and Electric company for about 20 years. He was prominent in labor circles and had numerous friends who will bemoan his death. He was 41 years of age, a member of the Waverly Methodist church, a Woodman and an Odd Fellow. He leaves a wife and eight children, three sisters and two brothers. The children are Henry, Helen, Frankie, Lillian, Sam, Elizabeth, Richard and Florence. His sisters are Mrs. S. H. Easterling of Bennettsville, Mrs. J. Y. Rawlinson of Lykesland and Mrs. W. T. Walker of Columbia. The brothers are John Dixon of Lykesland and R. S. Dixon of Kansas City, Mo. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock from the Waverly Methodist church and interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
