Son of David Benson and Lulu (Terrell) Cheshire.Charles Frederick was unmarried.He was a belt maker by trade. In 1905, he was living with his widowed mother and two sisters.By 1910, he was living at the Fort Leavenworth Military Reservation, Kansas at 28 years old. Charles was a Sergeant 1st Class mustered with E Troop,15th Calvary,U.S. Army. In 1918 , he was diagnosed with Lobar Pneumonia and Emphysema and passed away March 2 , 1918 at Veterans Hospital, Cochise County,Arizona.Interred March 12, 1918, Greenwood Cemetery
