Funeral services to celebrate the life of Bonnie R. Lindberg, 85, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady Street, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church. There will be additional visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday morning. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mrs. Lindberg died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Jersey Ridge Place surrounded by her family after a full life.
Bonnie Rae Muir was born on November 18, 1927 in Jackson, Minnesota, a daughter of Garth and Mabel (Madsen) Muir. She was united in marriage to LeMar D. Lindberg on December 26, 1946 in Jackson, MN. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2006. They shared almost 60 years of marriage together.
Bonnie retired from a career in sales in 1980. She was a tireless volunteer in our community, always willing to lend a hand or thought. She was also active in the Democratic Party. Bonnie was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed social outings with friends and family.
Memorials may be made to Churches United of the Quad Cities for food pantries or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Lindberg is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Kristine Sherman and Karen and Paul Caldwell; grandsons, Lee Sherman and John Sherman, and their father Dan Sherman, all of Davenport; brothers, Maylon Muir, Rochester, MN and Niel (Carole) Muir, Sebring, FL; a sister, Ardis Farris, Rochester, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Vron Muir.
