educated at Early, where he attended
Sacred Heart School. He served in the
U.S. Army during the Korean conflict
from 1946 to 1948. He then worked as a
well digger and also worked for the
Early Lumber Yard and as a partner in a
salvage yard.
On August 19, 1954 he was married
to Esther J. Moeller at St. Mary's
Church, Sac City. He worked for
Hygrade Food Processing for 28 1/2
years, until the plant closed in 1981. He
was a member of the Storm Lake Amvets
and Sac City V.F.W.
His hobbies were collecting and
restoring various types of antique tractors.
He also enjoyed gardening and
fishing.
Preceding him in death were his
parents and three brothers, Joseph,
Donald and an infant brother.
