Peter came to the U.S.from Italy.Entered the U.S.Army in 1916.Went to Mexico with General Pershing.When World War One brokeout he was training troops at Spatenburg S.C.Then left for France from Hoboken N.J.July 26,1918 on the S.S.Kroonland.He and the 51st landed in Brest,France Auguest 7,1918.Peter fought on the western front.Seeing action at Sexey Foges,Francheville,Toul,Puvernille Woods,then the Muese Forest.On November 11,1918 the Armistice was signed.The 51stPioneer Inf.Co.F moved into Germany and arrived in Zammes,Suzemont,then Wohlmeringer.In this location a riot broke out and many troops were used to put it down.After this the 51st moved to Luxembourg.Then he was moved back to Germany.He helped in food,hospital,and other duties in Wengerohr,Fehren,Sehl,and Guls.On May 11,1919 Peter and the 51st moved out to St.Nazaire France for the ride home on the S.S.Wilhemenia.On June 23 Peter and the remaining men of his unit landed in Brooklyn N.Y.Peter left the Army on July 2,1919 and stayed in good old Brooklyn N.Y.Peter worked for the New York City buildings dept for thirdy five years.Peter died in 1975 in Kings County Veterans Hospital from a Heart attack.He won six U.S.medals and four Foreign medals.His last request was to be put with the people he respected and served with in WW1.He rests in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale N.Y.
