Lois worked for the State of California for more than 50 years and retired from the Department of Justice in November of 2005. She enjoyed traveling and visiting exotic locales such as Vietnam, Thailand, Cuba, Taiwan and the Cayman Islands. Lois especially loved going to concerts at Conocti Harbor. She was a season ticket holder for the San Francisco plays and musicals, an avid movie buff and loved dining out.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Richard E. Holman; daughter Juliana (Marlin) Coulombe of West Sacramento; son John W. Holman, also of West Sacramento; and four grandchildren. Lois had brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, a large family of cousins, and an even larger family of dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service was held on Friday April 4, 2008 at the Milton-Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St., Dixon, followed by interment in the Memorial Wall at the Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon (also called "The Dixon Cemetery") where they had side-by-side niches. In 2013 her husband Richard decided to be interred instead in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery which had opened just outside of town. On July 18, 2013, Lois was moved to their new niche at the military cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Yolo County Hospice.
** Originally interred at the Dixon Cemetery.
