George was born in Sparta, WI to parents Azias Warren Burdick and Lucy Farnum Burdick. He was a stone mason, farmer and an undertaker. His first wife was Alta Eliza Baker whom he married on 28 Mar 1883 at Owatonna, MN. Their children include:
Maud Arloine Burdick married Milo Mathews
Zula Burdick
Leroy W. Burdick
George married Jensine Martinson in 1898 after his first wife died. The couple had a daughter named Hazel Burdick who married Leon Gates. In August of 1908 George married his third wife, Mary Franklin Baxter.
