James "Bull Dog" Bethley, 70, of Ferriday, LA, died Nov. 25, 2013 at his residence in Ferriday, LA. He was born December 24, 1942 in Clayton, LA, son of Shep and Sarah Gordon Bethley.
Funeral services are scheduled for December 7, 2013 at 11:00am from Rufus Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery with Rev. Michael Reed officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at funeral home.
Mr. Bethley is survived by two daughters, Joyce Givens and her husband, Floyd of Cartersville, GA; Tanya Johnston and her husband Phillip of Copperas Cove, TX; three sisters, Hattie Ruth Bethley, Leatrice Allen and her husband, Bobby; Beatrice Heard and her husband, Luke all of Ferriday; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Roosevelt Brown, Frank Brown, Sr. and Rev. Shep Bethley, Jr.
