DEATH LIST OF A DAY.
Henry Meigs Oddie.
Henry Meigs Oddie, senior partner in the Stock Exchange house of Turner, Manuel & Co., of 35 Wall Street, died on Thursday at his home, at East Orange, N. J. Mr. Oddie was born in Brooklyn in 1837. His father was Walter Meigs Oddie, an artist, who was a grandson of Judge Henry Meigs of New York, and a cousin of Admiral Richard Meade, United States Navy. Mr. Oddie went when yet a youth to Wall Street as bookkepper for Robinson, Cox & Co., and in 1868 he became a partner with Kenyon, Cox & Co. Five years later he was of the firm of Horace, Manuel & Co., and in 1880 he joined the firm of which he was a member at his death, buth which was reorganized when Mr. Manuel died two years ago. Mr. Oddie was a member of Hope Lodge, No. 124, F. and A. M., of Longfellow Chapter, Royal Arcanum; the Executive Committee of the American Missionary Society, and the East Orange Town Improvement Society, as well as of Grace Episcopal Church, Orange. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Ellen G. Prout of Washington, and two sons and two daughters. The funeral will be from 77 Clinton Street, East Orange, this afternoon, and burial in Rosedale Cemetery.

His grave stone is missing so I'll show the one of his wife as he is buried next to her.

Henry Meigs ODDIE was born 27 Mar 1837. He died in East Orange, NJ on May 19, 1898. His obituary appeared in the New York Times on May 21, 1898. He was originally buried on 21 May 1898 in the Rosedale Cemetery, East Orange, Essex Co. NJ. If he is now buried alongside his wife, then his remains had been removed from the Rosedale Cemetery.
