Lawsonia — The funeral of Mr. John E. Sterling, a well-known citizen of this community, occurred from Asbury M.E. Church at 2.30 Wednesday afternoon. Revs. V.E. Hills and A.W. Betts officiated, and interment was in the new cemetery.

The death of Mr. Sterling occurred at 4 a. m. last Monday morning after a lingering illness which had confined him to his home since March 1st. He was a member of Asbury Council, which turned out in a body, as well as Asbury M.E. Church.

The deceased was both born and raised in this section, and was fifty years of age.

His death is mourned by a widow and two grown children, namely, Mrs. Norman Hickman, of this place, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Clarence Christy of Crisfield; also three sisters and four brothers, namely, Messrs. Elijah, Elsworth, Charles W. and William F. Sterling, brothers; Mrs. George B. Merrill, Mrs. L.D. Mister and Mrs. William Sterling, sisters. The bereaved family have our sincere sympathy.
