Pioneer Calgary Resident Dies
Member of a pioneer Calgary family, Frederick Marshall Gainor, of 464 22nd Ave. N.E., died in the Colonel Belcher hospital Friday after a lengthy illness. He was 60. Mr. Gainor lived in Calgary most of his life an was associated with his father in Gainor's Transit Company, a pioneer trucking firm of Calgary. He was born when the city was still known as Fort Calgary, Northwest Territories, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Gainor. Mr. Gainor served with the U.S. army in the First Great War and was overseas with the 1st division, 13th Field Co., RCE, in the Second Great War. He is survived by his wife, Ella of Calgary; three sons, Dr. Norman H. Gainor and Leslie G., both of Calgary, and Dr. R. Donald Gainor, of Taber; six grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Gainor and Mrs. Kathleen Lane, both of Calgary, and Mrs. Margaret Field of Oshawa; four brothers, Howard, Washington; George, Los Angeles; Norman of Edmonton and Ross of Calgary.
