Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of A. C. Haskell, born in Fort Motte, S. C., and Alice Alexandria, born in Rome, Ga., and the husband of Margaret (hard to read maiden name) Haskell. He was a dairyman. He resided at Rt 1 Columbia, and died at Columbia Hospital of appendical peritonitis. He had an appendectomy on 06 October 1941. The informant was Rhea Haskell of Columbia, S. C.

Found on 12 October 1941: Funeral services for A. Porter Haskell, 66, of Route 1, Columbia, who died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning at the Columbia hospital after an illness of one week, will be conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon from Trinity Episcopal church by the Rev. Louis C. Melcher, rector. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Mr. Haskell, owner of the Evergreen dairy and a lifelong resident of Columbia, was the (son of) the late A. C. and Alice Alexandria Haskell. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Newman Haskell; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Haskell Smith, Miss Grace Haskell, Miss Margaret Haskell and Miss Frances Haskell, all of Columbia; five sons, Alexandria C. Haskell of Farmington, N. H.; A. Porter Haskell, Jr., of Washington, D. C., Lieut. S. Rhea Haskell of Columbia, member of the Richland county state house of representatives delegation, Charles T. Haskell of Columbia and J. William Haskell of Columbia; six sisters, Mrs. Christie Benet of Columbia, Mrs. Frank Gilmer of Charlottesville, Va., Mrs. R. A. Daly of Cambridge, Mass., Mrs. Mary Minis of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Gaston C, Raoul of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., and Mrs. Willoughby Walling of Winnetka, Ill.; three brothers, A. C. Haskell of Augusta, Ga., Charles T. Haskell of Wenatchee, Wash., and Adam Haskell of Beaufort; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
