NOTE: The majority of records spell his name ARMENAG, but grandson, Aram Saroyan (son of William) said he named his son ARMENAK after him.

On 2 May 1910 Armenag Saroyan (33), wife *Tapuhi (27), children; Cosette (10), Zabel (7), Henry (4) and William (1) lived in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California. Armenag and Takoohi had been married for 13 years, having 4 children, 4 living. Armenag was a preacher for the Salvation Army. NOTE: Names spelled as they appear on original image of this census. NOTE:
The death of Armenag/k was told in seperate accounts by son, William and grandson, Aram (son of William). One afternoon in the heat of summer, at their home in Campbell, CA, Armenag/k was taken ill. He was brought into the house by two farmhands who laid him on the sofa. His wife, Takoohi had taken him a glass of water and after drinking it his appendix ruptured. He died in a horse drawn wagon on the way to the hospital. In all likelihood they were headed to a hospital in San Jose, which is about 7 miles North/Northeast of Campbell. The County Hospital was established in San Jose in 1876. All newspaper accounts indicate he died there.

Saroyan, beloved husband of Quine [*] Saroyan, father of Cozette, Zabel, Henry and William Saroyan, son of Mrs. Sima Saroyan, brother of Mrs. Pepren Avakian, Leon, Misak and Mihran Saroyan, a native of Armenia, age 26 years, 7 months and 36 days.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral tomorrow (Monday), July 24, 1911, at 10 o'clock a.m., from the Mortuary Chapel of W.L. Woodrow, corner of 2nd and San Carlos Streets. Interment Oak Hill.

NOTE: Armenag's wife's name, Takoohi means "Queen" or "Queenie".
