James Y. "Jim" Adams was born
April 8, 1927 in Albert City to Jesse and
Yarda Lovgren Adams. After the death of
his father in 1935, the family moved to
Des Moines, and from there to Storm
Lake, where Jim completed his public
schooling. He entered the United States
Air Force and served at Lackland Air
Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Upon his discharge from the service
on November 2, 1947, he returned to
Storm Lake where he began his 32-year
career with the Storm Lake Register and
Pilot Tribune. In 1995 he and his wife,
Janet, moved to Bella Vista, Ar., where he
resided until his death.

Jim and Janet Noble, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. R.P. Noble, were married on
June 14, 1953 in Alta. They have two
children, Jeffrey of Dayton, Oh., and Elizabeth
of Ann Arbor, Mi. Jeff and his wife,
Dana, have three children: Brett, Abby
and Holly.

Other survivors include a
brother Roland Adams of Lincoln,
Nebraska; three sisters, Gail Nichols and
Lois Adams of Albert City, and his twin,
Jane Scott of Loomis, Ca.

Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed all
kinds of sporting events, both as a participant
and as an observer. He especially
enjoyed coaching Little League baseball,
playing golf, cheering on the Iowa State
Cyclone football team, and during his
younger years, sailing. His favorite activities
during his retirement were golf and
fishing. Jim was proud to say he was a
member of the Storm Lake volunteer Fire
Department, from which he retired in
1970. Since his retirement he had been a
member of Bella Vista Community
Church.
