CROWE - Florence, of Uniondale on May 16, 2009. Loving mother of Carol Crowe and April Bartlett of Pattersonville, NY. Beloved grandmother of Brian and Alissa. Visitation at Hartnett Funeral Home, 561 Jerusalem Ave., Uniondale Thursday 11am-1pm with a Religious Service at noon. Interment following at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead

I was honored to get to know Florence Crowe and her daughters Carol and April, and her grandchildren of whom she was so proud. Florence will always remain in my heart as a woman of amazing strengths. She lovingly cared for her daughter Carol and made a warm and loving home for her as she met her challenges. Carol seemed truly happy and they celebrated every holiday as something special. Florence accomplished things one step at a time....Carol and her making their way in an ice storm on foot to and from the shops. Florence's family has a history of generations going back in the Hempstead Uniondale area. She would describe to me what it was like as a young child and how she recognized a former pond she used to go to as now being the A. Holly Patterson Home. She recreated scenes of the area before parkways and thruways and remembered when Old Country Road was an old country road. This is my tribute to you Florence.....an inspiration to me in your many strengths. I am grateful to have had you and Carol as friends and to have been honored to meet your family over the years. Rest well dear lady.
