For three seasons, he played for the Kansas City Athletics (1958-59) and for the New York Yankees in 1960. He concluded his Major League career with a record of 14 homeruns, 50 runs batted in and a .242 batting average. He later went on to play in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League with the Nankai Hawks for six seasons (1962-67), was on the Pacific All-Star team in 1964 and hit the game-ending home run in game 4 of the 1964 Japan Series title for Nankai.
