She was born Teunje Dijkema on October 31, 1847 in the country village of Ulrum, located in the northwestern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, daughter of the 35 years old day-laborer Menne Jans Dijkema and Stientje Pieters Oostenrijk. Source: scan of her birth certificate.

On May 24, 1873 servant maid Teunje Dijkema married in Eenrum at the age of 25 years to the two years younger farm hand Jakob Aggen, born in the country village of Ulrum, in former municipality Eenrum, also located in the northwestern part of the province Groningen, son of day laborer Jan Reinders Aggen and Luddina Kornelis Wiersema.

On April 13, 1878 Jenna (Teunje, 30 years old), her husband Jacob Aggen (29, farmer), their children Jan (2) and Stanger (Stientje, 1) arrived aboard the ship named "Switzerland" at the port of New York, Castle Garden. On the same ship sailed Jacob Aggen's brothers S[teffen] Aggen (23, farmer), Johann[es] Aggen (20, farmer) and Corn [Kornelis] Aggen (16, farmer).

On September 6, 1881 and October 31, 1883 they had in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois sons Mano and Render, and on December 27, 1887 in Illinois daughter Lue Dina.

Antonetta died in February 1906 at the age of 58 years in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Her widower Jacob Aggen died there too in March 1922 at the age of 72 years.
The headstone for Antonetta Aggen at Mount Greenwood Cemetery in Chicago has a very incorrect date of birth on it.
