John W. Nieman 05/17/1943 - 11/02/2013 Resident of Clayton Clayton resident John Walter Nieman, 70,died in his home on November 2nd, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents and his dog Montana. He is survived by his brother, Edward Nieman, sister Jeanne Harrison, wife Patricia Nieman, and children: Karl Nieman, Kendra Wirig, Michael Nieman, David Nieman, Mark Nieman, Kaity Broadbent, and 12 grandchildren. John was born on May 17, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Gilbert and Virginia Nieman and grew up in San Jose, California. He attended San Jose State, served an LDS mission to Austria in 1960-62, attended BYU, graduated from UOP Dental School, moved to Clayton and practiced dentistry for 40 years. John enjoyed woodworking, backpacking, playing fast pitch softball, and basketball. He loved watching Giants' baseball and BYU football. While he made a living as a dentist, he was often found fixing cars, building houses, or helping cub scouts with their pinewood derby cars. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.Memorial Services: Sat. 11/9/2013 at the LDS church located at 1360 Alberta Way in Concord, CA at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Diablo Silverado Council of Boy Scouts of America or Clayton Valley Little League. Graveside services: Mon. 11/11/13 in Orem, UT.
