She was born at home in Wilder, ID. On Dec. 12, 1933 to Paul Dallas Swigert & Thelma (Hyde) Swigert. She attended school at Arena Valley & Wilder. She married the love of her life James W. Reid on Dec. 24, 1950. Together they raised two children, Stewart & Paula. She was an excellent homemaker & cook. She cooked on a few of the ranches that her husband Jim was managing. She loved her flowers, gardening & cross stitch. She made & sold crafts for many years & made good friends with several of her fellow crafters. She loved playing pinochle with her cousins, Edie, Tom & Bernie. And then there was the Golden Girls, Judy, Carol, Tootsie, & Betty, they played Pinochle at least 3 days a week. Thank you for filling her days with fun & laughter. She is survived by a brother, Leon (Leann) Swigert of Rupert, ID. A son, Stewart (Mickie) Reid of Halfway, OR. A daughter, Paula (Kevin) Crockett of Caldwell, ID. Grandchildren Koli Allen of Kuna. Mick (Gina) Reid of Redmond, OR. Jake (Riata) Brown of Wells, NV. Riley (Melissa) Brown of Haines, OR. Great grand children Nathan Allen, Cecil & Keiland Reid, Garrett & Taylor Brown, Raimey & Dalton Brown. Long time neighbors & friends Jeff, Kim & Brecklin Milton. She was preceded in death by her parents & her husband Jim passed in 2003. There will be a private family graveside service at 2:00 PM in Hilltop cemetery in Nyssa, OR. On Sept. 8 and a 2:30 PM Memorial get together for family and friends to celebrate her life at the Nyssa Senior Center immediately after the graveside service.
