Eliza was the daughter of John Juden & Abby Block. The family had moved from Cape Girardeau, MO, to New Orleans where they were very active in Baptist activities. Eliza's parents were founding members of Coliseum Place Baptist Church.

On 2 April 1846, Eliza married Bermudan merchant James B. Bostock. Eliza and James had no children, and lived for years in the large household of her brother, John Richards Juden. James died in 1880 at the age of 65. Eliza lived to be 100.
