Isaac was a son of Isaac and Emma (Bucklin) Eveleth. He was baptized August 29, 1779, in Rumford, Rhode Island. Isaac was a Quaker. He married Alma, daughter of William and Almy (Clarke) Taggart, in Newport, Rhode Island, on November 21, 1799, and they had children John, Harriet, Adaline and Frederick. His wife died in 1827 and he married second, Mary Whitehead. They resided in Cincinnati and had children Isaac, William, James, William and Isaac. The first two, Isaac and William, died of scarlet fever in 1837. Isaac, Sr. was a bookkeeper.
