William Pearce Allen and his twin brother Dr. Silas Benton were born on February 28, 1856, in Salem, Harrison County, Virginia. Their older siblings, Stephen & May B. were also twins.
William was a farmer and married Nevada "Vada" Lee Clark on November 19, 1890, in Wetzel County, West Virginia. They had three children. He died on April 23, 1919, in Wetzel, West Virginia, at the age of 63 from Tuberculosis and Liver trouble.
