George Morris Driskill, 90, Hokes Bluff, Ala, was born in Dawson, attended school in Geraldine. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, served as a medic in the 141st Field & Artillery Battalion, 725 FABN. He was a member of the VFW post. He retired from Comcast Cable Company and SouthTrust Bank. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Walker Driskill and Theodocia Cornelia Driskill; son, Timothy Morris Driskill; granddaughter, Robin Michelle Parker; sisters, Lillie, Pearl, Annie and Inez; and brothers, Woodrow, Otis, William, Willis, Sam and Ralph; survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Joy Driskill; children, Delores (Charles) Abney, Catriona "Diane" (Robert) Ryan, Donna (Steve) Quinn, Joseph (Tammy) Driskill, Mary (Greg) Johnson, Mark (Laura) Driskill, Carol (John) Bagwell,Samantha (Michael) Sellers; grand-children; nieces and nephews; and special friend and Army buddy, Jack Mullins and wife, Dot. Honorary pallbearers include the Sunday morning crew at Jack's.
