After Russell's death on December 26, 1970, she went to work for Casco Bank & Trust as a teller in Fryeburg, and later in South Paris and Gray, until she retired in November of 1984.

She married Berkeley N. Henley of Norway, on March 31, 1974, and resided in Norway. She learned to play a banjo and played first in her father's orchestra in Sweden and Lovell and later with the Parisians of South Paris.
