NORWAY - Nancy J. Mason, 88, of Hebron died Sunday, Oct. 19, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Cranston, R.I., on Sept. 10, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Hazel Blaine Budlong. She graduated from Cranston High School in 1938 and Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1942.

She worked at Rhode Island Hospital where she met her husband, Mahlon R. Mason, M.D. They married on Dec. 30, 1943. They moved to Peterborough, N.H., in 1948, where they lived until moving to Hebron in 1970.

She had been a homemaker while raising her family and worked with her husband in his office. She was very close to her family; family was everything.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Dunn of Hebron, and Martha Whittemore and her husband, Brad, of Waterford; three sons, Nathaniel R. and his wife, Deborah, of Albany Township, Jonathan R. and his wife, Christine, of Hebron, and David of Albany Township; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Wilbur of Cranston, R.I.; and a sister-in-law, Eunice I. Newell of Douglas, Mass.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mahlon, in 1998; a daughter, Judy in 1972; and two sisters, Hazel and Betty.
