Note from contributor:
There has been much discussion and controversy concerning who the "M.T. 1776" stone belongs to, or whose grave it marked. My case for it being Mary Trammell, M.T., the wife of Gerrard Trammell is clear.
Gerrard Trammell's wife had the initials M.T.
Husbands and wives are most commonly buried next or near the other spouse.
Gerrard Trammell included Mary, his wife, in his only will and made his mark and seal on it, dated 16 Nov 1775.
Mary could have died right after the will was created and documented.
Gerrard died in 1786 and the only will presented for probate was the same will dated 1775.
The marker in question has the inscription "M.T. 1776" leading easily to the assumption it is indeed Mary Trammell, wife of Gerrard Trammell. BB

Mary's parents are Nicholas Javan and Mary Fields
