ETHELSVILLE, Ala. — Sarah Lydia Tilley, 93, died Sept. 16, 2012, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Robertson and the Rev. Redus Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Mrs. Tilley was born Dec. 24, 1918, to the late Andrew Jackson Richardson and Mollie Cooper Richardson. She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress for Seminole Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lanier Tilley; son, Jackie Tilley; sister, Kammie Mae Alexander; and two grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Robert H. “Hobby” Tilley and Carvin L. Tilley Jr., both of Ethelsville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Union Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Melvin Mordecai, P.O. Box 53, Ethelsville, AL 35461.
