Rose Agase Sargis, 95 years old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2010. Born September 13, 1914 to Assyrian immigrants Charles and Eslye Agase. Loving wife to the late Andrew Sargis. Cherished mother of Barbara Jean (the late Dr. Y. Carmen) Boba, Ronald G. Sargis, the late David R. Sargis, and mother-in-law of Michelle Sargis. Precious grandmother "Mimi" to Matthew (Krista) Boba, Amy (Scott) Belford, Jonathan (Jennifer) Boba. Proud great-grandmother to Tommy, Rachel, Natalie, Luke, and the late Lauren Boba. Treasured sister of Herbert (Carole) Agase, Beatrice (the late James) Eshoo, the late Alex (Norma) Agase and the late Louis (Eileen) Agase. Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. A pillar of her church, who taught Sunday School to generations of families for over 60 years, Rose embodied genuine faith and love. Known and cherished as "Miss Rose" by scores of devoted pupils, one and all were taught God's message of love, hope, forgiveness, and the promise of salvation. In 2002 Rose retired to the Presbyterian Home where she continued to spread the word of God to fellow residents and staff alike. Her family is comforted to know that the lifetime of dedicated care and compassion for people exhibited by Rose has left a profound and lasting legacy for scores of families touched by her teaching, her compassion, and her unconditional love. She was a truly unique and remarkable woman.
Funeral Information
Family and friends to meet Saturday for funeral service at 11:00 am at Carter-Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 4950 W. Pratt Ave., Skokie, IL 60077. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation Friday 3-8 pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago.
