Melvin Robert Beermann married Lois Marie Lichliter on July 16, 1939 at her home in rural David City.
They moved to Pierce, Neb., where he was the county extension agent until he was called to military service in 1941. While in the U.S. Army, they moved several times including Paris, Texas, where their daughter, DelRae, was born.
In 1945, they returned to Nebraska and in 1948, their son, Robert, was born. In 1953, they moved to Dakota City.
