Harold Joseph Haley (November 14, 1904 – August 7, 1970) was a Superior Court judge in Marin County, California. He was taken hostage in his courtroom, along with several others, during the course of a trial, and killed during the attempted escape of his captors with their hostages.

"Born in San Rafael, he graduated from San Rafael High School and received his law degree from St. Ignatius College in San Francisco. He served as city attorney for San Rafael as well as district attorney. He was a former chairman of the Republican Central Committee of Marin County.

Gov. Goodwin Knight appointed him a municipal court judge in 1956 and Gov. Pat Brown named him to the superior court in 1965."
