A. George Bullock dies at Worcester
Enfield (Ct.) Native was Prominent in Financial and Social Activities
A. George Bullock, 79, vice-president of the State Mutual Life Assurance company, died here this morning at his home. Col. Bullock, whose family is one of the oldest in the United Sttes, was the son of Gov. Alexander Hamilton Bullock, who had a reputation as an editor, writer, financier and state Republican leader.
He was born at Enfield, Ct., June 2, 1847. He came to Worcester with his parents in his infancy. He received the degree of B. A. in 1868 and that of M. A. in 1871 from Harvard.
Following his graduation Col. Bullock read law in the office of Judge Thomas L. Nelson and United States Senator George Frisbe Hoar. In 1875 he was admitted to the bar, but in 1883 gave up law to accept the presidency of the State Mutual Life Assurance company.
He was a director in the Norwich & Worcester railroad, .... He was one of the original 50 who founded the Worcester art museum.
Col. Bullock was a life member of the Royal Society of Arts, London..... He also belonged to the American ANtiquarian society and the Worcester Historical society.

A report of the funeral in the "Boston Herald," 26 June 1926, notes that the funeral was held in the First Unitarian Church, and that "Among the flowers was a wreath of calla lilies from President and Mrs. Coolidge."
