Warren was the third child of five, and first son of two born to John W. McAllister and Catharine V. McLaughlin. He was married to Elizabeth, also born in Boston, and they had one son, Herbert Chester McAllister, born less than two years before he died. This child was named after Warren's brother who was 3 years younger. Warren lived his whole life in Boston and worked as a laborer & teamster.
He passed away at age 27 of Tuberculosis. His cemetery plot was purchased by his oldest sister's husband on 14 Jul 1898, the day he was buried, and the grave next to him remains empty to this day.
