Chicago Sun-Times February 3, 1988:

The Rev. Edmund J. Skoner, 75, a longtime Roman Catholic priest in Chicago, died Sunday in Boynton Beach, Fla., after a brief illness.
Father Skoner, who retired to Boynton Beach in 1982, served as pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, 1415 N. North Park, from 1966 to 1979, when he became pastor emeritus until his retirement.
He ended his career where he began it. After he was ordained in 1937, Father Skoner served as assistant pastor at Immaculate Conception for five years.
During World War II, he became an Air Force chaplain. Returning from his wartime duties in 1946, he became associate pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Highland Park for two years.
He then joined the Archdiocese Mission Band, where he worked until he became pastor of St. George Church in Chicago in 1961.
Survivors include a sister and a brother.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 1035 N. Dearborn. Funeral mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
