The oldest remaining member of the Grossman family of Quincy, passed away peacefully on the 2nd of December 2007, in her 100th year.
A resident of Boston for many decades. Born and educated in Quincy, she was the founder of the Anne Starr Shops in Quincy and Wellesley. An innovator in the field of women's fashion in the mid 20th center.
The daughter of the late Lizzie and Reuben Grossman and the widow of Emanuel Starr. She is survived by her children, Barbara Starr Wolf and the late Wolf Wolf of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Bariloche, Argentina, Marjorie Starr Myers and Eugene Myers of Walnut Creek, California and Carole "Kelly" Starr Schein Weinreb and Efrem Weinreb of Chestnut Hill and the late Arthur Schein. She leaves 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Virginia "Penny" Soble of Atlantic City and Palm Beach, Shirley Stadfeld Brown of Brookline and Palm Beach and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Temple Israel, 477 Longwood Avenue, Boston, (parking available on the Riverway), on Wednesday, December 5 at 1 PM. Burial at the Hebrew Progressive Cemetery, Jeshurun St., (off of Grove St.), West Roxbury. Memorial Observance Wednesday following the Burial until 9 PM, Thurday 1:30-4 and 7-9 PM and Friday 1-4 at the home of Kelly Schein and Efrem Weinreb.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to your favorite charity.
