Louise Johns Detmold, 95, of St Augustine passed away at home on March 13, 2013. Educator, wife and mother, she was preceded in passing by her husband, George Ernst Detmold, her brother, Slayton, and her sister, Jeanette. She attended Newtown High School in New York, and was a 1938 graduate of Barnard College, also in New York. She was a lifelong educator, devoting her life first to teaching and later to administration. She retired from Rollingwood Elementary School in Chevy Chase, Md., in 1976, at which time she moved to St. Augustine from Kensington, Md., with her husband. Locally she was active with the AAUW, the Women"s Exchange, and Memorial Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She is to be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. Craig Funeral Home, Crematory, and Memorial Park are in charge of arrangements.
