Homer E. "Shaf" Shaffer,91, of Morgantown, WV formerly of Waynesburg died in Windy Hill Village, Kingwood, WV.
He was born in a cabin at Sines, MD to the late Emra C. Shaffer and Dorothy Mayle Shaffer.
He earned a bachelor's degree and a masters degree from West Virginia University where he was a three year letterman in baseman. He seved as the scoreboard operator and spotter for radio broadcast for 28 consecutive games at WVU.
He worked as a high school teacher and coach in Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He retired from Central Greene District where he taught Drivers Ed and privately taught drivers ed until the age of 88.
Surviving are his daughter Lori (Carl) McCune, Jr of Morgantown, WV and a son Todd of Waynesburg, PA; two brothers Harlen Shaffer of Maryland and Galen Shaffer of Texas; two sisters Arlene Metheny Of Maryland and Ann Taylor of West Virginia.
Deceased is his wife Helen Jo Robinson; son Timothy H. Shaffer; brothers Jim and Ross Shaffer and sister Twila Canipe and Hester Bohon.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Gary Grau with burial following in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown, WV.
