Born in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Murray and Rose Barshay. He was a dentist in East Hartford and a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He and Barbara belonged to Beth El Temple in West Hartford.
He served as a captain in the Air Force 1972-74. He graduated from Brooklyn College and received his DDS from New York University.
He is also survived by his sister, Linda Cohen of Vineland, NJ; and eight nieces and nephews. His two beloved brothers, Douglas Barshay and Marshall Barshay, predeceased him.
He was deeply loved by all this family for his generosity, honesty and humor.
The funeral will be Monday, April 15, 12:30 p.m. at Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, and officiated by Rabbi James Rosen. Interment will be at the Beth El Cemetery, Jackson St., Avon. The family will observe Shiva at the Barshay home.
